Evening of Jazz

Jazz I presents Evening of Jazz on Friday, February 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Lake Highlands Freshman Center auditorium.

This year’s show features Lake Highlands Jazz I -- which includes seven all-region and two all-state musicians -- as well the Forest Meadow Jazz Band.   Our guest artist is the TCU Jazz Ensemble, and that means the Wingfields will be back in the house for one show only

Great entertainment, and a complimentary dessert reception!

Tickets $5 students, $8 general, and $10 reserved. To reserve seats, view the attached seating chart and e-mail
jaaaroth@sbcglobal.net. General and reserved seats held at will-call. CASH and CHECKS only. Doors open at 6:30 for a 7:00 p.m. show.

From Mr. Guidry:

This past week at the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention, Jeff Bradford, Director of Bands and Fine Arts Coordinator at Lake Highlands High School, was inducted into Phi Beta Mu, an honorary international bandmasters fraternity. This honor originates through nomination from a group of peers consisting of a sponsor and two co-sponsors. The candidate is then evaluated for a period of one year, taking into consideration service, professional activity and professional achievements. The final step is election by the fraternity and induction at TMEA. Membership nomination is open to band directors who have at least 10 years teaching experience and an exemplary record of achievement and service in the profession.

We are so excited to be a part of the Lake Highlands Band program with Mr. Bradford and a feeder school to LHHS, and even more excited that you and your student get to be a part of this organization soon. It is clear that under Mr. Bradford's direction your student will get a music education unmatched anywhere in the district, state and country.

Congratulations Mr. Bradford! We're all very proud of you and appreciate all you do!
